June LHI

I received my LHI on Monday, so props to LHI for getting it to us so quickly. Unfortunately, this box was a big disappointment for me :( After last months debacle (where I received the same product as the previous month), LHI emailed and apologised, promising a bigger and better box, with lots of new brands to play with. Naturally, I was excited, but was disappointed to see that 3 of the brands/products had been in previous boxes!

After checking out other peoples boxes, I guess I am lucky as I received the box with more make-up items, but it still doesn't make me feel better about it. The LHI have gone up to $19.95 a month now, and I still find the BB contains much more value, and at a cheaper cost too! Anyhoos, enough whinging, lets get to the contents of the box.

OPI Pure Lacquer Nail Apps $19.99
I don't know how to flip images once it's been loaded onto the blog, but you get the gist of this product :P Yet another nail sticker, but this design was really ugly (no offence OPI!) It's a red sticker with dragons printed on it - I guess it would have been good for chinese new year last year...I guess I can save them for when it is the year of the dragon again :P

Real Purity Natural Lipstick in Romantic Red RRP$15.00
Not too fond of this lipstick - felt more like a tinted lip balm. The colour is great though if you want a sheer red for the lips

Pure Fiji Hydrating Body Lotion RRP$29.95
Pure Fuji again? I'm not the biggest fan of coconut so I have already passed this onto a friend!

Savi Organic Soothing Cream RRP$27.95
As nice as organic products are, the smells really just put me off. This one is particularly potent, so unfortunately I will give it a miss.

Rachel K CC Cream RRP$39
I received 3 sachets of the cc cream, which is a nice amount for me to really get an idea of this product. Since it is a Korean brand, I am curious to try it out and see how well it works ( I am so racist when it comes to BB and CC creams - I tend to stick to Asian brands only haha)

Batiste Dry Shampoo RRP$9.95
I've actually already got this product (I have 2!!), but since this is one of the nicer scents, I guess I don't mind too much. Either way, I think dry shampoo has been around long enough, and been in so many beauty boxes it's no longer classified as something 'new and exciting in beauty'.
Klara H2O Proof Eyeliner RRP$18
Cute name, but I have enough black, waterproof eyeliner to last me a lifetime (which is no fault of LHI)! The eyeliner seems ok - not as soft as I like, and not as pigmented as some other cheaper eyeliners (ie Rimmel eyeliners).

June Bellabox!

Bellabox was super speedy with delivery this month! I got my tracking notification on Thursday and got my box on Friday....and what a full box it was too! :)

StreetGloss in Translucent Baby Pink
Before I even received my BB, I got an email telling me that a few boxes got lipglosses that were past their due date (mine expired in 2011!!). Therefore, I haven't tried this gloss yet, and I am eagerly awaiting my replacement product! I really can't wait to try this product :)

Bioderma Atoderm Cream
We have received a few Bioderma products from BB, and I have liked most of them (although there was one that made my skin itchy and red). We received 2 8mL samples which is good as one is never enough :P

Tiaki Day Cream
This day cream is a tiny 5mL tube, but only a little bit was needed to moisturise my whole face. It's made from 100% botanically derived products, which means it has that organic smell (something which I'm not too fond of). Other than the smell though, it's a good moisturiser.

Toni&Guy creative texturising glue
Another full sized product! This product is great for holding braids (layered hair means a lot of flyaways), but since I don't braid my hair often, I have passed this product onto my mother!
Montagne Jeunesse Passion Peel Off Mask
I love these masks! I haven't tried this particular kind of mask though, and am excited to see how a peel off mask would compare!

Brazillion Butterfly Samples
I've never tried anything from Brazillion Butterfly, so it was nice to receive not one, but six samples of products to try from this brand (even if they are sachets)
Kiss Nail Dress
I've received this product before, but am not a fan of the animal prints so this will probably be given to a friend of mine.

Natio Nail Polish in Valentine
This was a nice bonus colour product, and I've never tried natio polishes before. This polish has a  good formula and dries quite quickly. It was quite sheer though (almost like a jelly), and needed 3 coats to get rid of any visible nail line.
One coat only - can totally see my nail line there!
Pretty good box right? With 4 full sized products, and a total of 8 products in this box, what's not to love?!

Haul Post!

I decided to go shopping last night. Just because it was humpday (and it being payday had NOTHING to do with it). Somewhere along the line, looking for concealer turned into a buy everything BUT concealer frenzy. Both Myer and David Jones were opened late, and David Jones was having a GWP if you spent $79 or more at Napoleon Perdis - how could I resist a GWP?! Esepcially when the GWP includes a one hour make up lesson (RRP $95, although redeemable on products). Anyways, I don't think I need to justify any purchases in the blogging world ( one of the many reasons why I love it so much), so without further ado, lets just look at my haul :P

Looks like it matched my bedsheets :P Gorgeous pinky shade in 'Soiree Mauve''
Mini Nude haul - tinted moisturiser, lipgloss and blush all for just $10! Gotta love clearance section in Myer :P

Amazing GWP when you spend $79 on Napoleon!
My NP haul - quite a lot of new things to play with!

This is actually my first proper make-up purchase from the Napoleon store. I've got a lot of NP brushes, and a lipgloss here or there, but I've never really tried Napoleon before! The GWP from David Jones was so generous, with three full sized products and two deluxe samples! I am really excited to try out their eyeshadows, and the mosaic gleamer palette looks gorgeous! I've only used liquid highlighter before, and that pink powder puff is super cute! I purchased the Palette Patrol set, an eye pencil, lip pencil, lip lacquer and the mosaic bronzer. The thing I loved most about Napoleon was that they included a lot of samples with their products! I cannot wait for the weekend to start so that I can start playing with it all :P

Have you ever tried Napoleon products? If so, I'd love to hear what your favourite product is!

May LHI

I finally received my May LHI today. I'm quite disappointed with this box, especially considering I just changed over to an annual subscription. I have a sinking feeling that I might regret this after this months debacle, but lets hope that June boxes make up for it.

I usually receive the same, if not very similar box to one of my friends, and after reading so many spoilers whilst (impatiently) waiting for my own box to arrive, I was getting a little excited about the May LHI.

What I received:
The Natural Source Camoflage Colour Lipgloss
As I am not a huge fan of lipglosses, this will be going to my little sister who has just started discovering the joys of make up

Seacret Body Lotion
I saw a lot of complaints about this brand, and I too have my qualms about this brand. Any brand that feels the need to force innocent bystanders to watch their demonstrations (I can't say no to people!) make me uneasy about their brands. That aside, I am glad to receive the body lotion, as I believe you can never have too much body lotion!

Paula's Choice Resist Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum
I was a bit disappointed to see this product in my box. I was hoping to receive the clearing solution, as I have no need for wrinkle-repair serums.

Tigi various shampoo/conditioner samples
I've actually never tried Tigi products before, but have heard lots of good things about them so I am eager to give these a shot. I actually like sachets for shampoo because it's so much more convenient when you are travelling, or showering at the gym etc.

Nude by Nature Papaw Ointment
This is the exact same product I received last month.

So that's my May LHI. Not only was it supremely late (damn you AusPost), but the selection of products I received did not match my profile at all, and the repeat product really did it for me. I hope LHI pick up their game next month. Okay, rant over :P
