Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

I recently won the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream on a facebook competition, and decided to share my thoughts on this product!

Application:
This BB cream has a gel-based formula, which gave it a runny consistency - almost as runny as liquid foundation. It was very easy to apply with fingers, but when I tried applying with a foundation brush, it left streaks. I would recommend applying with fingers or a stippling brush, as you really need to rub and blend in the product!

Coverage:
The coverage of this was quite sheer, and wasn't very good at hiding imperfections or pimples (unlike the Asian BB creams!). However, it did do a very good job of evening out the skintone, and gives a very natural finish. I didn't find it to be as moisturising as I hoped - it seemed to cake up around my dry patches (currently the eye brow area for me right now!) if I applied too much.

Longevity:
This BB cream lasted maybe 3-4 hours for me. I found that it faded off evenly, so it didn't look too bad, but I would have liked for it to last longer. I don't usually apply primers when I use BB creams though, so that may have contributed a little bit.

Overall:
As a tinted moisturiser, this product is quite nice to use. To be honest, I would not repurchase this product as I found it to be lacking as a BB cream, and at the price (approx. $15 from memory), there are better drugstore BB creams out there.

  1. Congratulations on winning! I scored one too, but I have yet to use mine. I'm currently using the L'Oreal Paris one instead and it sounds like that BB cream works much better than this one!

    1. I haven't tried the L'Oreal one..might pop that on my next shopping list :P I still think that Asian BB creams have much better coverage and wear! :)

  2. Congrats on winning this BB cream. I have to say BB creams haven't really worked all that well for me. Maybe I need to try the Asian brands?

    1. Thanks Trishie! You should definitely try out the Asian brands! If there are any Asian beauty boutiques near you, definitely check it out as they tend to give samples of BB cream with purchases, or sell packs that include samples from different brands! Thats one of my favourite ways to see if certain BB creams work for me!
